Who is Jason Squires?
Since 1998, Jason has specialized in entertainment photography, shooting more than 1,200 live and red carpet events. As official photographer for premier Kansas City concert venues including Sprint Center and Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland, Jason has perfected capturing the energy and emotion of live events.
From AC/DC to Zac Brown Band and thousands of artists between, chances are Jason’s shot that show. His photography has been featured in publications including Rolling Stone, MTV, People, Us Weekly, Time, and Newsweek. And when the MTV Video Music Awards, Sundance Film Festival, Lollapalooza, and Rockfest have needed photos that nailed the feeling of seeing it live, they’ve used Jason as their official photographer.
Jason’s also no stranger to corporate events, with clients including Verizon Wireless, Sprint, The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, Nintendo, Reebok, and Tissot.
“My job as an entertainment photographer is to capture that interaction of light and performer within the confines of what is generally a three-song time limit,” Jason says. “Concert photography is a rush. It’s anticipation, instinct. The camera can never record exactly what the eye sees because the eye is a remarkable instrument, but if I can compose a shot well enough that people who see it say it makes them feel like they were there, I’m happy; I’ve done my job.”
Jason is represented by Getty Images and is available for local, national, and international assignments.
